Mona Ghiami, CA

Mona graduated with honours from the University of British Columbia earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology. She qualified as a CA with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Vancouver. During her time in Vancouver, Mona was a member of the PwC Chartered Accountants School of Business (CASB) Education Committee, the PwC Learning & Education Committee, the Finance Committee for the Boys & Girls Club as well as a UFE Mentor and Case Writing Instructor. After 3 years with the Vancouver office she transferred to PwC Chicago where she was also part of the Audit & Assurance Group and after 1-½ years with the Chicago practice, she moved to Toronto to take on the role of Recruitment Manager. Mona joined the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario as the Director of Career Information in March 2007 and currently volunteers on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Ontario.







The Path to Becoming a CA
1. Obtain a 4-year, 120 credit-hour, University Degree
2. Complete: 
    a. An accredited CA university program OR 
    b. 17 specific university courses known as the “51 credit-hour requirement”
3. Obtain 3 years of practical experience with a CA Training Office
4. Take the ICAO Professional Program 
    a. Complete the Core-Knowledge Exam (CKE) 
    b. Complete the School of Accountancy (SOA)
5. Write and pass the Uniform Evaluation (UFE)
